william cordova: '2 tienes santo pero no eres babalao (esculpiendo en el tiempo)' at MALI Lima

MALI Lima presents 2 tienes santo pero no eres babalao (esculpiendo en el tiempo), a solo exhibition by william cordova. hrough installations, collages, and drawings, his work often reflects on the histories of radical movements and their protagonists’ struggles for self-determination.

2 tienes santo pero no eres babalao (sculpting in time) is a meditation on public memory. It makes temporal associations with architecture, geography, history, language, smells, and sounds: an ephemeral repository that forms a scattered constellation of events, moments, and gestures. cordova’s installation disrupts the familiar by altering public perception and offering a multitude of entry points into an infinitely shifting environment, where “everything that exists only comes to be and never is.” (Gilles Deleuze)
